• Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a growing healthcare model where patients pay a fixed monthly fee directly to their doctor in exchange for primary medical care. The monthly fee is straightforward, empowering families to better manage their healthcare expenses while saving money and gaining better access to their doctor.

Telemedicine is visiting with your doctor virtually. You can get diagnosed, get advice, or have consultations through text, e-mail, phone, or video chats. No need for you to make a trip to the clinic. Your doctor can even send your prescription straight to the pharmacy after your visit. This convenient service is included in your monthly membership at no extra charge.

Pulse Direct Care membership is not insurance. Although we can care for the majority of your healthcare needs, we still recommend and encourage having catastrophic insurance or a health share to safeguard against unexpected medical needs, such as hospitalizations, surgeries, and emergencies. Pairing our membership is a great way to save money. Please refer to the end of our price page if you are looking for more comprehensive healthcare options to pair with our membership. Check our Employer page if you’re an business looking for options.

At Pulse Direct Care, we don't take any insurance. We believe that insurance can make the cost of primary care higher, and it's really meant for unexpected situations. Just like you wouldn't use car insurance for regular maintenance, we think primary care is best when it's just between you and your doctor. You can always use your insurance for referrals, prescriptions, emergencies, and expenses outside of Pulse Direct Care.

We are trying to make this a reality! We simply need those that are 65+ to join this waiting list that lets us know if this option is in high-demand. We have to follow a few regulations and cannot fulfill them as a small business unless we know the demand is high. After we have sufficient interest to implement the changes needed, anyone with Medicare can join as a member through a private contract with us. It's worth mentioning that Pulse Direct Care does not and will not have an agreement to bill Medicare, and Medicare won't cover the monthly membership fee. However, you will still be able to use Medicare to pay for lab services at our clinic through Labcorp with their Medicare pricing and billing team. Additionally, you can rely on Medicare for prescriptions, referrals, and emergencies outside of Pulse Direct Care, as usual.

At this time, we are unable to see patients who have Medicaid.

Pulse Direct Care is unique, and the monthly membership fee is what allows it to be so different. Our patients benefit from the old-fashioned partnership that can be cultivated by having plenty of time to address health concerns and truly have their doctor know them and see the big picture of their health. It allows unhindered communication with your doctor through virtual visits. Most importantly, it encourages patients to seek medical attention when they need it- as a first step, instead of a last resort.
We do have a small list of services available to the public on the services page, where a membership is not required.
-
No, in-office visits are by appointment only and are reserved for our members, whose needs can be immediately addressed virtually as well.
While we do offer some services to the public, appointments are still required.
-
We are deeply committed to price transparency. We make sure to clearly outline which services are covered by the membership and which discounted services are additional. There is no charge for in-office and virtual visits. If you need anything else like a lab, test, or procedure, we will always let you know the exact cost beforehand. No surprises or tricks! As a small business, we kindly ask for payment at the time of service.
-
Yes, and this allows you to have such great access to your doctor! Normally, a doctor is responsible for thousands of patients. In order to provide individualized care, we limit the number of patients to the hundreds for each doctor. Our hope is to grow and add more physicians to our office to accommodate the needs in our community.

DO stands for Doctor of Osteopathy. DO and MD are both doctorate medical degrees from their respective medical schools. These represent the only two ways to become a physician. MDs and DOs can specialize in any area of medicine, and both are regulated by the Texas Board of Medicine. DOs have additional training in Osteopathic Manual Medicine (OMM).
